ALMA talk at science and technology meeting

ALMA, through its North American partner Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI), will participate in the First Science and Technology Meeting organized in Chile by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and EducationUSA. The event, which will take place on May 6, is aimed at students in the last years of high school and university students.
Rodrigo Brito, a member of the ALMA Engineering System, will give a talk entitled “Professional Experience in the United States,” on his academic experience in that country. The other presenters include astronomer María Teresa Ruiz, who was awarded Chile's National Science Award in 1997; René Garreaud, PhD in atmospheric sciences; and Dr. Jenny Blamey, director of the Bioscience Foundation .
This First Science and Technology Meeting is an opportunity for students interested in obtaining scholarships for undergraduate and graduate study to learn about the benefits for financing and studying in the United States. The meeting will start at 4:30 p.m. on May 6 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel (El Alcalde 15, Las Condes).
