How to arrive to Puerto Varas

The closest airport to the conference is Puerto Montt (Airport code: PMC). The full name of the airport is El Tepual International Airport. International travelers will likely have a connection in Santiago, the capital of Chile. LATAM and Sky Airline operate several flights daily between Santiago and Puerto Montt. The flight from Santiago to Puerto Montt takes about 1.75 hours.

Transportation between Puerto Montt airport and Puerto Varas

The Puerto Montt airport is located approximately 30 kilometers from Puerto Varas. The most economic means to travel from the Puerto Montt to Puerto Varas is by shuttle bus, which takes about 40 minutes. Andres Tour is offering a special rate when you notify them that you are attending the ALMA conference. Andres Tour no longer has a counter at the airport, and you are encouraged to make reservations by emailing Andres Tour at [email protected] and/or [email protected], or by contacting them through Whatsapp (+56 9 9647 2210). Participants should make their reservation mentioning the ALMA conference and a car/van will be available. The payment options are: cash, credit card or transference (in case of Chilean residents). The cost is 6,000 CLP per person for one way, or 10,000 CLP for two people that travel at the same time and to the same hotel. We also recommend that you make reservations for your return trip at the end of the conference.

Another option is to take a taxi at the airport. The estimated cost is 20,000 CLP per car for 4 passengers.
