Since 2020, the ALMA observatory has funded the "Atacama Makers" technological innovation workshop applied in three high schools in Calama, San Pedro de Atacama and Toconao. In these workshops, students must identify a problem affecting their community, and then think a technological solution for it.
The photo shows the presentation of diplomas to the students of the Luis Cruz Martínez High School in Calama, where kits were given to the most outstanding students for them to design, program and prototype using the Arduino platform.
