Cristián Puentes

Cristián Puentes joined ALMA on March 1, 2022 as JAO Head of Administration for the Joint ALMA Observatory.

Cristián has a Commercial Engineering degree from the Universidad de Chile with an MBA from University of Westminster (London, England), and has an extensive experience in managerial positions, focused on planning and execution of administrative and financial strategies and the management of diverse organizations and teams.

A primary responsibility of the Head of Administration at the JAO is high-level interface and negotiation with various parties with respect to the Observatory’s overall administrative, financial and contractual obligations. Cristian brings valuable skills and views that help to continue providing the support for ALMA at a crucial time when the observatory is completing its first decade of operations.
