Sergio Martín

Head of Science Operations

Graduated in Physical Sciences in 2001 in Madrid and PhD in 2006 from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Institute of Millimeter Radio Astronomy in Granada, Spain.

Sergio worked as a post-doc on the Submillimeter Array (SMA) at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics until 2009.

He worked at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) dedicated to ALMA until 2013 and on the NOEMA project at the Institute for Millimeter Radio Astronomy in Grenoble, France.

Since July 2015 he has worked as an astronomer at ALMA where he has held different positions and, since 2024, he has been the manager of the scientific operations department.
