Behind the Technical Building at the ALMA Operations Support Facility

In this short video, we can see a fascinating aerial shot from behind the Operations Support Facility (OSF) Technical Building. Here, the vehicle garages and telescope and transporter maintenance facilities are located. This area bustles with activity when routine equipment maintenance schedules go into effect.

The OSF not only serves as the location for operating the Joint ALMA Observatory (JAO), but is also the Assembly, Integration and Verification (AIV) station for all high-tech equipment before it is moved to the Array Operations Site (AOS) at 5000 meters altitude.
