Farewell, Ed Fomalont!
Edward B. Fomalont is a pioneer of interferometry in radio astronomy. He was involved in all the major radio interferometers over the last six decades. As an astronomer, he reduced the uncertainty of gravity speed to less than 1%, which was very impressive at that time, given the available technology.
ALMA observatory staff was fortunate and honored to share with Ed as an NRAO Visitor Astronomer over the last decade. But now he's going back to America.
This video is a short conversation with Ed about his life, science, and ALMA, just weeks before he left to endeavor new projects in his already legendary life.
